The objective is to support the Governments of Benin, Togo, and Ghana through their power utilities to update the feasibility study and detailed design of the Benin-Togo-Ghana Electricity Interconnection project, and the development of a detailed Environmental Impact Assessment for the project.
To conduct Technical and Environmental Feasibility Studies for the construction of 200km, 400kV transmission lines and associated substations that will interconnect Palma in Mozambique to Mtwara in Tanzania. The studies will include a business case for investment to ensure that the project is bankable.
To conduct Technical and Economic Studies for 400 kV transmission lines and substations for the evacuation of power from the proposed 600 MW Baynes Hydro Power Project (HPP) on the Cunene (Kunene) River, bordering Angola and Namibia, integrating into existing power transmission grids of the two (2) countries; specifically: (1) Undertake technical studies and compose technical design specifications of transmission lines, substations and associated auxiliary or ancillary equipment and systems; (2) Assess the commercial and financial (economic) viability of the entire transmission project thro
The proposed project consists of update of Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, Bidding Documents, ESIA and RAP as pre-investment studies for construction of a High Voltage transmission line and associated substations of Beni, Butembo, and Bunia and upgrade the Nkenda Substation. From Nkenda substation in Kasese Western Region of Uganda the line will continue up to Bunia and Butembo via Beni in the North Eastern region of DRC. The total distance of the line is estimated to 352.2 km. The estimated investment cost is USD 160 million.

The activities for which IPPF assistance is requested are : technical, economic and financial feasibility studies, and environmental and social impact assessment studies for the 400KV Zambia-Mozambique Multinational Power interconnection.
To update the previous Feasibility and ESIA studies made by Fichtner in 2007. To transport energy generated from Northern Nigeria and Burkina Faso with T-offsets to Niger and Benin (900 km transmission line).
